Personal Training ONE-ON-ONE

No matter what your current ability level is, or what your goals are, you will have a custom program designed just for you.  We will create a customized exercise program for you, designed to help you reach your unique health and fitness goals.

Your first session is essential to helping you set up a foundation for success, many individuals with good intentions start an exercise program but then within a few months they drop out. This high drop-out rate is often due to the fact that the individual has not spent any time establishing the right program for them based on their medical and fitness history. Assessing their fitness benchmarks, past and present. And as a result, they failed to set up a program that will help them stay motivated so they are consistent enough to progress and experience life changing results. At the end of the day it is RESULTS, RESULTS AND MORE RESULTS.

Next we will design training programs that maximize your performance. We will also decrease injury susceptibility by prescribing exercises to develop and maintain muscular balance between muscle groups. We teach you the proper mechanics of each exercise and will ensure that you are performing each with correct form, thus maximizing the efficiency of your workouts.

The variety of our programs are virtually endless and can include cardio-conditioning, muscle-conditioning, strength, balance, agility, flexibility, nutrition core training or a combination of all of these depending on your goals.

Rates for One-on-one training

  • $75 per  session
  • $70  per session-at volume discount (10 sessions or more)

Semi-Private Personal Training

Semi-private personal training is essentially an option that fits between one-on-one personal training and the large fitness boot camps. Semi-private personal training is typically conducted with two to four clients at a time. This allows for lower costs per person than traditional personal training while at the same time allowing more personal attention than most fitness boot camps.

We generally require that they go through ten one-on-one training sessions, including a first session that reviews medical and fitness history, and initial fitness assessment. Once the individual has learned the proper mechanics of each exercise and can perform each exercise with correct form, he/she is ready to move to the semi – private training.

Rates for Semi-private training (2 to 4)

  • $45 - $55 per session  (based on the size of the group)

Post Rehabilitation

We work with a variety of clients who have conditions that may include hypertension, diabetes, chronic lower back and neck pain, ACL reconstruction, patient with torn rotator cuff, total joint replacements, chronic tendonitis, muscular imbalances and others. We work cooperatively with your medical professionals to develop safe and effective fitness programs based on information provided by your physician, physical therapist or chiropractor. Through a progressed training program, we work to restore your strength, power, balance, proprioception, gait patterns, endurance, muscle fiber recruitment, joint stability, coordination, flexibility, and range of motion. We also make sure that the injury won't come back due to some biomechanical influence or something else that has not been resolved. We will focus on the cause and not the symptoms.

Participants who are returning from an injury or illness, or have special needs, are required to show proof of medical clearance prior to beginning or returning to a Strength & Conditioning program.

Youth Training

Our long-term approach to youth fitness and sport training is the key ingredient when it comes to working with your kids (14 years and over only). Don't confuse strength training with weightlifting, bodybuilding or powerlifting…in these activities, the participants try to lift heavier weights or build bigger muscles.  At Jackie'’s Gym, we will set a fitness program for your teen based on his/her individual differences, their physical assessment and their goal setting. Some may be beginners that would like to get a "feel" for the lifestyle of fitness, or they are a competitive athlete that are looking to improve their sports performance and prevent future injuries. Our training programs begin slowly and increase gradually; there is a training progression that starts with exercises using the individual body weight, and gravity force as a resistance. At the next level, he or she starts learning a proper technique using free weights and weight machines. Throughout this process, we will provide additional education on the "big picture of health and fitness". At Jackie's Gym we would like to build the future of your teen as a healthy individual that fitness is a big part of his/her lifestyle and culture.

Super Circuit Training

What Is Super Circuit Training?

This unique training system is limited to a small group of individuals; this is no beginner program and every participant needs to have some basic knowledge in lifting technique.

Circuit training maximizes caloric burn and works the cardiovascular system by keeping you moving…not allowing for long rest periods between exercises. Super circuit training alternates timed aerobic exercises with high-repetition strength training that is alternated between large and small muscle groups.

Strength and cardio circuit training can be used as a cross training alternative to providing excellent all around fitness, strength and stamina. It can also help reduce risk of overuse injury. You will move from exercise to exercise efficiently with minimum interruption. You'll be out of the gym in no time to get the maximum results in minimum time.

Rates for Super circuit training

  • $25 per  training session
  • $20 per session (when you buy a series in advance)

Circuit training programs begin on Sunday May 6.

About Jackie

At the age of 12, Jackie started boxing in the Golden Gloves program and soon became the Champion of the Lightweight Class. The next 6 years, Jackie spent competing for the National Israeli Boxing Team until, at age 18, he started his mandatory three year service with the Israeli Army. While in the army, Jackie was able to put the skills and knowledge of his past fitness training to good use as the Fitness Trainer for the troops. Every day, from early morning to late at night, he would motivate the men through a rigorous and demanding program. During this time, Jackie’s passion and commitment to a career in fitness training became clear.

Jackie then attended Wingate College and studied Exercise Physiology and specialized in Clinical Posture with expanded knowledge in Human Kinetics and Bio Mechanics. Four years later, after completing his undergrad, he went to work for the Hyatt Hotel and was hired as their Fitness Instructor and Personal Trainer and soon launched his own personal training business in 1987. After two years in business Jackie’s thirst for knowledge and his “you can never know enough” attitude brought him to the United States where he began working on his Masters Degree. He attended the University of Akron and studied Exercise Physiology, specializing in Cardiac Rehabilitation and then completed an internship at Summa Akron City Hospital in the Cardiac Rehab Department.

In 1991, Jackie became the Fitness Director at the Akron Jewish Community Center and developed a series of Personal Training Programs for their members. After an inspirational one on one meeting with spinning creator and phenomenon, Johnny G,
Jackie brought the area’s first “Spinning Studio” to Akron, OH.

In early 2001, Jackie opened his private studio, Jacob’s Superior Kinetics. The success of this private gym is based on the education and experience that Jackie has harvested over 30 years and his commitment to empower his clients with the knowledge that ensures success.

Jackie is an active member of the community and generously donates his skill and expertise to the Stephen A. Comunale, Jr. Family Cancer Foundation each year at their “Spin for Life” fundraiser. He enthusiastically leads a group of over 300 riders throughout the day and has helped to raise over $100,000 at each event. He lives in the Akron, Ohio area with his wife and two children.
